Open Your Mind is the world’s leading event for experimental dance culture. Participants from all styles and genres join from all over the world to improvise on the beloved stage of Parktheater. This event blends the border between theater and battle and challenges dancers to step out of their comfort zone and show their full artistic potential. Open Your Mind is an interactive experience where every detail matters and even the audience can decide what happens on stage. Next to the coveted grand prize and runner up awards, there is an award for most outstanding improvisation and the best battle of the night.
What's going to happen
The international judges panel consist of world renown experimental artists: Yvonne Smink, Bodypoet Kazuma and Kenzo Kusuda. The musical support is an eclectic blend of musical genres by djs Nobunaga, Lucas Benjamin and percussion collective curated by Dominique Vleeshouwers. The event is hosted by the official writer of Eindhoven Terence “Machete” Van Lange. The event has two parts, first the pre-selection part in the morning and second the main event centered on the 16 selected dancers.
