Motion Lab day 1

MOTION LAB is a Netherlands-based annual program curated by Alesya Dobysh. It focuses on developing dance improvisation skills and deepening artistic research. Over two days, you will take both physical and theory-based workshops led by international guest teachers from diverse artistic backgrounds.

Motion Lab has limited spots. When you purchase a ticket for Saturday, Sunday, or the weekend ticket, you can add a Motion Lab ticket separately. To do so, first select the day or weekend, click next, and scroll down. You’ll then see Motion Lab listed as an add-on.

A two day program

On Saturday, May 23, the day begins with a workshop led by Lea Ved, who will also judge the Open Your Mind Battleimmediately afterward. Whether you want to warm up before the event or explore Lea’s poetic world, join the class on Saturday and stay for the Open Your Mind program afterward.

On Sunday, May 24, the program features seven hours of movement practice guided by international guest artists. The day ends with a jam session with live electronic music, where we will experiment with newly acquired skills alongside other artists. Participants will explore boundaries between genres and disciplines — contemporary dance and street and club styles, music and movement, visual and physical — and develop their own artistic language.
